About Julie

Julie grew up with a love of camping and fishing and was often the lone girl on the fishing trips. She enjoys spending time with family playing games, having summer BBQ's, or just hanging out. We met in the glamor of the local 7-Eleven where I worked nights. I quickly realized she was the kind of girl I want to marry because being around her made me want to be a better person. I think she has that affect on a lot of people.
I am in awe of Julie around children. She has an innate sense of what a child needs to feel special and loved. She's currently the primary president in our ward and she puts her whole self into her calling. She loves the children and worries about the ones who need a little extra love just like they were all our own kids. From the time we were dating I knew that Julie's greatest desire was to be a mom. Even when she worked at a daycare taking care of 2 year old kids all day she would come home and just want to have her own.

About Ray

Ray was born in California and his family moved to Michigan when he was 9 years old which is where he grew up. He moved to Utah to attend BYU and we met while he was working at the 7 Eleven near my house. The thing I like most about Ray is his great sense of humor. He is always ready with a clever remark and is good at lightening the mood when things get too serious. He is a fun person to be around.

Ray is very talented. He is an amazing cook and loves experimenting in the kitchen. He has a great singing voice and played the trumpet in high school and in the BYU marching band.

Ray is the most selfless person I know. He is always concerned about how other people are doing and what he can do to help. He enjoys spending time with our neices and nephews and is always looking for teaching moments with them.

Halloween in Colorado

We took a short weekend trip to visit Rays brother and his family in Colorado with Rays parents. It had been 3 years since we had been there and it was a lot of fun to go back. The kids are so cute and getting big. While we were there we left grandma and grandpa with the kids and went to the Colorado Avalanche NHL game. I had never been to a hokey game and it was really fun, the Avalanche won the game 5-1! We played the donut game with the kids and helped them carve pumpkins. Then they dressed up in their costumes and went trick-or-treating around the block. We had so much fun spending time with them!

Halloween Party

We had a fun Halloween party at Rays parents house. We played all of the traditional games and then let the kids trick-or-treat inside to each door.

Here are some pictures of the cakes I made for my cousins wedding. Her husband is a big Steelers fan so this is the "Grooms Cake".

When life gives you plums...

Thanks to some very generous donors we had a garage full of plums. Ok so we gave most of them away but we still had a huge cooler full of them. So what else do you do but make jam. This was my first time making jam by myself and I think it turned out pretty good. Jennifer and I made about 25 jars of the most amazing plum jam ever.

We have the best family ever!

We love our house! We got all moved in and mostly settled after replacing the garbage disposal, the stove and a leaky valve to one of our 3 toilets. Our yard looks good thanks to my dad for fixing the sprinklers and our walls look good thanks to Rays dad for taking charge of the huge painting project. Our families have helped us so much through the whole process of buying the house. Naomi and Jason helped us pack up most of the apartment; Jennifer, my dad, Rays parents and Nick helped us move; Jennifer worked crazy hard to help me clean the apartment; They all helped paint and Jennifer has been helping get unpacked and organized.
