Introduction

We've been married for ten years. We love being an aunt and uncle to our nieces and nephews. We have been through the roller coaster of fertility options and are glad we explored those avenues. We now know that our children will come to us through adoption.
The purpose of our blog is for you to get to know us and to get word out that we are looking to adopt in the hope someone we know knows someone who is pregnant and considering
placing the child for adoption, and then refer them to us.
To the expectant parent, I don't know you or how you found yourself looking at this blog, faced with this decision to place or parent your baby. But I do know that you are a strong and amazing person for even considering adoption. God knows you and loves you. With His help and your faith I know you will be guided to make the choices that will be best for you and your baby. Know that we pray for you without yet knowing who you are.
Adoption is such a personal and unique experience for all involved and is different for each case. I believe the specifics of adoption are between the people involved and not for the general public. We do have a letter for you that has more information about us, our ideas on parenting, our families, our open adoption plans, and where you fit in. We want to get to know you and in doing so we can discuss more openly what adoption looks like to each of us.
Thank you for taking the time to look at our blog. I hope you will be able to get to know us through our posts. If you want to read our expectant parent letter please email us at jewelstewart@gmail.com and we will send you a copy.

About us

We met in February 2002, which you can read about that life changing event in this post. We dated for almost 2 years before we were married on November 1st, 2003. We love spending time together traveling, camping, fishing, watching movies or just hanging out at home. Traveling is one of our favorite things to do even if it's just for a weekend, whether it be in the mountains or on the beach. We have gone on 2 cruises, hiked around Capitol Reef National Park and Zions, dug through the dirt in a precious gem mine in Southern California, spent time at Lake Tahoe, Disneyland, Universal Studios, Las Vegas etc... We have many other destinations on our travel bucket list including Hawaii, Yellowstone, New York etc. (Ray has a whole itinerary planned for a Michigan, Ohio, New York church history trip).
We bought our home in July 2010 so quite a few weekends are spent doing yard work or home improvements. Julie loves to work in the yard and get her hands dirty.
We got our beagle Toby in the summer of 2011 when he was about 3 years old. He loves to play and wrestle with Ray and hang out with Julie. He is not your typical beagle though. We have never heard him howl like beagles do and he hardly ever barks. He has ran away from a mouse before and one day he was whining non-stop in the garage, when we went to see what the problem was he was upset that a stray cat had found its way into our garage. He loves kids and enjoys teasing the neighbor dogs by running up and down the fence line and getting them to chase him. Toby is a silly dog and we love him.
We love spending time with our families. Ray's parents live about 1 hour away and we usually get together with the whole family (10 adults & 8 nieces and nephews not including the 3 that live out of state) about once a month to celebrate birthdays or holidays. Julie's parents live about 10 minutes away. In the summer time you can almost always find the entire family in the back yard on the deck in the shade eating hot dogs off the grill while our 4 nieces cool off in the sprinklers.
During our 10 years of marriage we have experienced many heartaches with infertility. We have gone to different doctors and had 3 unsuccessful fertility procedures. With each attempt we felt it was the right thing for us to do no matter the outcome. We are still full of hope that we will be parents. After reading more about adoption and attending adoption conferences and birth parent panels we are excited to become adoptive parents! We have written a letter for those considering placing a baby for adoption that has more detailed information about our adoption plan.

About Julie
Julie grew up with a love of camping and fishing and was often the lone girl on the fishing trips. She enjoys spending time with family playing games, having summer BBQ's, or just hanging out. We met in the glamor of the local 7-Eleven where I worked nights. I quickly realized she was the kind of girl I want to marry because being around her made me want to be a better person. I think she has that affect on a lot of people.
I am in awe of Julie around children. She has an innate sense of what a child needs to feel special and loved. She's currently the primary president in our ward and she puts her whole self into her calling. She loves the children and worries about the ones who need a little extra love just like they were all our own kids. From the time we were dating I knew that Julie's greatest desire was to be a mom. Even when she worked at a daycare taking care of 2 year old kids all day she would come home and just want to have her own.
Ray

About Ray
Ray was born in California and his family moved to Michigan when he was 9 years old which is where he grew up. He moved to Utah to attend BYU and we met while he was working at the 7 Eleven near my house. The thing I like most about Ray is his great sense of humor. He is always ready with a clever remark and is good at lightening the mood when things get too serious. He is a fun person to be around.
Ray is very talented. He is an amazing cook and loves experimenting in the kitchen. He has a great singing voice and played the trumpet in high school and in the BYU marching band.
Ray is the most selfless person I know. He is always concerned about how other people are doing and what he can do to help. He enjoys spending time with our nieces and nephews and is always looking for teaching moments with them.
