Introduction

We've been married for ten years. We love being an aunt and uncle to our nieces and nephews. We have been through the roller coaster of fertility options and are glad we explored those avenues. We now know that our children will come to us through adoption.
The purpose of our blog is for you to get to know us and to get word out that we are looking to adopt in the hope someone we know knows someone who is pregnant and considering
placing the child for adoption, and then refer them to us.
To the expectant parent, I don't know you or how you found yourself looking at this blog, faced with this decision to place or parent your baby. But I do know that you are a strong and amazing person for even considering adoption. God knows you and loves you. With His help and your faith I know you will be guided to make the choices that will be best for you and your baby. Know that we pray for you without yet knowing who you are.
Adoption is such a personal and unique experience for all involved and is different for each case. I believe the specifics of adoption are between the people involved and not for the general public. We do have a letter for you that has more information about us, our ideas on parenting, our families, our open adoption plans, and where you fit in. We want to get to know you and in doing so we can discuss more openly what adoption looks like to each of us.
Thank you for taking the time to look at our blog. I hope you will be able to get to know us through our posts. If you want to read our expectant parent letter please email us at jewelstewart@gmail.com and we will send you a copy.

Halloween Party

We had a fun Halloween party at Rays parents house. We played all of the traditional games and then let the kids trick-or-treat inside to each door.

Wedding Cake(s)

Here are some pictures of the cakes I made for my cousins wedding. Her husband is a big Steelers fan so this is the "Grooms Cake".

When life gives you plums...

Thanks to some very generous donors we had a garage full of plums. Ok so we gave most of them away but we still had a huge cooler full of them. So what else do you do but make jam. This was my first time making jam by myself and I think it turned out pretty good. Jennifer and I made about 25 jars of the most amazing plum jam ever.

We have the best family ever!

We love our house! We got all moved in and mostly settled after replacing the garbage disposal, the stove and a leaky valve to one of our 3 toilets. Our yard looks good thanks to my dad for fixing the sprinklers and our walls look good thanks to Rays dad for taking charge of the huge painting project. Our families have helped us so much through the whole process of buying the house. Naomi and Jason helped us pack up most of the apartment; Jennifer, my dad, Rays parents and Nick helped us move; Jennifer worked crazy hard to help me clean the apartment; They all helped paint and Jennifer has been helping get unpacked and organized.
Thank you everyone for all your help and you are all invited to the "Thank you BBQ"... TBA.

Patience

"It Happens" by Sugarland is the story of my life...
"Life don't go quite like we planned it, we try so hard to understand it... aint no rhyme or reason no complicated meaning, aint no need to over think it, let go laughing...."
Every time I think I have something all figured out and planned exactly how I think it should go, it doesn't work out that way. We have been trying to figure out when we will be closing on our house for about a week. We get it planned and then something comes up to delay it a day or two. It has been pretty frustrating... I know I would rather have everything done right instead of quick so it is good that they are taking care of it now. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us and most of the time my plan is not His plan. I am learning patience and this is just another test for me.

Bye Bye Rent

Yep, it is actually happening! We have been waiting a long time to finally be able to buy a house and now we are. This year we have been working hard to pay off debt and get our credit scores in a good place to be able to qualify for a mortgage loan. I have been house shoping for a while so that when we got qualified we could already know what we want. We got our approval letter last week and this week we found a house that we both love in Spanish Fork. Our offer was accepted yesterday so if all goes well we will be moving in about a month! We are so excited (and a little overwhelmed about the whole process). There is a lot to it and it is easy for me to get confused but I'm glad I have a smart husband and our realitor to help us out with all the details.

For all my fans

I have been getting several requests (Naomi) to post pictures, so at the bottom of the blog are some slideshows of the vacations we have been on. Enjoy!
