Introduction
We've been married for ten years. We love being an aunt and uncle to our nieces and nephews. We have been through the roller coaster of fertility options and are glad we explored those avenues. We now know that our children will come to us through adoption.
The purpose of our blog is for you to get to know us and to get word out that we are looking to adopt in the hope someone we know knows someone who is pregnant and considering
placing the child for adoption, and then refer them to us.
To the expectant parent, I don't know you or how you found yourself looking at this blog, faced with this decision to place or parent your baby. But I do know that you are a strong and amazing person for even considering adoption. God knows you and loves you. With His help and your faith I know you will be guided to make the choices that will be best for you and your baby. Know that we pray for you without yet knowing who you are.
Adoption is such a personal and unique experience for all involved and is different for each case. I believe the specifics of adoption are between the people involved and not for the general public. We do have a letter for you that has more information about us, our ideas on parenting, our families, our open adoption plans, and where you fit in. We want to get to know you and in doing so we can discuss more openly what adoption looks like to each of us.
Thank you for taking the time to look at our blog. I hope you will be able to get to know us through our posts. If you want to read our expectant parent letter please email us at jewelstewart@gmail.com and we will send you a copy.

Change of plans
Take the previous post and change "Yellowstone National Park" to "Lake Tahoe". Yep I was right, there was way too much snow in Yellowstone so they closed the park gates. Luckily we were able to switch our reservation to Lake Tahoe instead. It is about a 8 1/2 hour drive but well worth it once we were there. It is so beautiful there! On Saturday we took a steamboat ride around the lake and learned all about Lake Tahoe. Sunday we had a nice drive and played on the beach a little. It was great to get away for a few days and relax before Ray started school again. Maybe we will try Yellowstone next summer.

Time for a break
I will be so glad when Friday finally comes! After the last few crazy weeks of lots of homework and long hours at work and, the passing and funeral of a really good family friend, we are ready for a break. Ray decided that when this semister is over we would take a little trip to Yellowstone National Park. We are debating if the snow will be clear enough to take a hike or if our only transportation will be snowmobiles through the park. (I think there will still be lots of snow). We will be leaving Friday the 30th and coming home Monday the 3rd. It will be fun to get away for a few days.

Welcome to the world!
Sarah Elizabeth was born on January 18th at 10:45 am. She is a pretty baby and I think she looks like her dad. Nick is totally in love with her and wants to hold her every chance he gets. It is cute to see my little brother as a dad and a husband. He is doing a great job so far.

Happy New Year!
January is a fun busy month for our family. Kaitlynn (my neice) is turning 6 on the 13th. She decided she wants to have a "Princess Party" which means Aunt Julie gets to make a castle cake! My brother Nick's birthday is on the 17th and my sister Jennifer's is on the 18th. Nick's wife Katie is scheduled to have a c-section to give birth to their baby girl Sarah on the 18th also. We had a baby shower for them on saturday and it turned out really fun with the awesome manager at Costa Vida delivering food for the party.
Happy Birthday guys!

'Tis The Season
I love this time of year! I can't believe how fast time flies. Our anniversary seamed to "sail" on by. We had a lot of fun on our cruise, especially when Ray won first prize in the belly flop competition! Thanksgiving was great spending time with the Stewart's this year at Melissa's house and shopping with all the girls on Black Friday. Getting ready for Christmas has been fun, we finally finished all our shopping on Monday. I'm like a little kid so excited for Christmas morning to come (2 days left!). We will be with my family this year on Christmas starting the morning off at home to see what Santa brought, then off to Grandpas house for our Christmas breakfast and gifts then to my parents for games and a lazy afternoon.
I hope everyone has a very safe Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
